FUEL Student Ministries

Middle School Lab & FUEL

Middle school Lab and FUEL are technically two separate programs, but they go together. They are held on Wednesdays during the school year.

Lab is our after school program, which is from 3:45-5:00pm. FUEL is from 5:00-7:00pm.

We pick students up at HJ MacDonald, Grover, and Epiphany; and we take them to Garber for our Lab time. The schedule for Lab is as follows: snack, devotion, free time/homework time. For our devotion time last year, we read a Psalm and talked about it for a few minutes before heading into free time.

Around 5:00pm, more students start arriving for FUEL. The schedule for FUEL is as follows: game, dinner, lesson, small groups.

Last year, we read parts of the Gospel of John, which talk about Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. It also talks about who Jesus claims to be, "The Way, the Truth, and the Life." In a culture with increasing pluralism and diversity, Jesus still claims to be the way to God. We talked about what this means for us as we choose to put our faith in Christ.

After our series on John, we read the first several chapters of the book of Acts, which tell us about the first Christian community and how Christianity began. We talked about how this is relevant to who we should be as Christians today. This year we will talk about different religions, and particularly the uniqueness and truth of Christianity.
