Discipleship for Adults

We offer opportunities for adults of all ages and stations in life to explore farther, higher and deeper in their faith in order to be like Christ.

Whether you are a guest or a long-time member of Garber UMC, we would like you to get plugged in to one of our disciple groups either on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, or anytime in between. If we want to be like Jesus, we need to know what Jesus did! Join us on this continuing, exciting, and challenging journey! For more information on any of our adult classes, email Mary Coleman:  mcoleman@garberumc.com

Sunday School and Other Adult Study Options

Sunday School for all ages is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. weekly.

We encourage everyone to commit to joining a Sunday School class this year! There are so many reasons to do so! First, you learn wonderful things about our Savior, his life, his teachings, the church, and our mission as His people. Secondly, it is what we do as a member of the church! Thirdly, it sets a wonderful lifestyle example for those who are watching — our children, our neighbors, our relatives, our business associates and co-workers. Lastly, it is a group to which we belong that holds us accountable, that provides support in times of need, and fosters fellowship and friendship.

Wednesday Night Adult Bible Study:

Six Week Follow Up Bible Study beginning Feb. 14

5:45-7:00 pm Wednesdays

Have you longed for a great understanding of the Old Testament?  Have you wondered how all of the pieces fit together?  Have you been confused about all those good kings and bad kings, judges and priests, desert experiences and messages of hope, and what it all means?

Welcome to God’s Grand Story:  His Word.  Your Life.  In just a few short weeks, you’ll understand the big picture of the Old Testament, and how it impacts your life personally.  There are daily devotional readings and prayers that tie into the weekly Bible study.  Together, we’ll study these themes:

      Beginnings                          United Kingdom

Wilderness Experience              Divided Kingdom

                 Promised Land                  Captivity/Coming Kingdom

God’s Grand Story is the story of God’s work to redeem, restore, and  renew His people.  Step into His Story with us!

The Walk Thru the Old Testament Live Event will serve as a launch for the God’s Grand StoryA Six-Week Churchwide Bible Adventure in the Old Testament.  However, you do not have to participate in the Walk Thru event in order to join a study group.

Our adult small groups will meet in homes for this study, however there will be one-two small groups that meet at the church as requested.  Please sign up for a group and turn the form into the church office asap!  You will be notified of the location of your small group***; the group itself can decide if it would like to start at 5:45 or 7:00 pm.  Please note that childcare/Kids in Christ God's Grand Story study  is available only at the 5:45 time frame.
