Haiti

Garber has enjoyed a 10+ year relationship with the St. Joseph's family in Haiti and are blessed to be partners in ministry with them!

The St. Joseph’s Family is comprised of a guesthouse facility outside of Port au Prince, where older boys that are supported thru schooling and tutoring work to keep the guesthouse running (a source of income for the family);

the Wings of Hope home in Jacmel, a home for handicapped children;

and the Trinity School in Jacmel, a school for the poorest of children in that area.

A constant stream of dedicated volunteers visit the facilities and give both time and money to assist the ministry.

They return year after year, serving in Christ’s love and being renewed by the fresh and simple faith found at all the St. Joseph homes.

Throughout Garber's history with the St. Joseph's family, Garber has lent support with monetary gifts, school supplies for the Trinity School, and our presence — nurturing the relationships we have formed and being nurtured in return by the members of St. Josephs.

Garber’s yearly mission and ministry budget allows these trips to take place;

one trip in the summer with students and adults and one in the fall to deliver school supplies to the Trinity School (on hold during COVID)

Prayer of Abandonment, prayed at the beginning and end of every day by the St. Joseph's family:

Father,

I abandon myself into your hands: do with me what you will.  Whatever you may do, I thank you.

I am ready for all, I accept all.  Let only your will be done in me, and in all your creatures.

I wish no more than this, O Lord.

Into your hands I commend my soul; I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,

for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,

to surrender myself into your hands, without reserve, and with boundless confidence, for you are my Father.
