STEPHEN MINISTRY

Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips

lay-people to provide one-to-one Christian care to people in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry.

The identity of those receiving care and everything they discuss with a Stephen Minister remain private.

We all experience challenges in life -

times when we could benefit from care and support. Stephen Ministers can provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty such as:

  • Loss of a loved one
  • Hospitalization
  • Divorce or separation
  • Loneliness or discouragement
  • Spiritual crisis
  • Unemployment or a job crisis
  • Terminal illness
  • Birth, adoption, miscarriage or infertility

If you would like to speak to a Stephen Minister, we would love to talk with you. You can contact us through the church (252-637-4022) or by emailing Pastor David at dbanks@@garberchurch.org

If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, you can contact us at edelmastro@suddenlink.net or talk to a Stephen Minister on a Sunday morning, you can find us wearing blue Stephen Minister badges. A new training class for Stephen's Ministers will begin in 2022.
