SAFE SANCTUARY

Your Child’s Safety . . . .

is a top priority at Kids In Christ Ministries!

We strive to be “pro-active” against harmful situations rather than “re-active” to a problem.

All adults who work with our children, students, or with vulnerable adults are required to receive SAFE SANCTUARY TRAINING.

Please call the church office for information regarding upcoming training sessions.  252-637-4022

Scroll below to see a few of the safety measures that we implement regularly!

Security Cameras:  operational in all children’s classrooms, hallways, the Children’s Hall, and nursery areas.

Student/Teacher Ratio: We strive to achieve a ratio of 1:5 between paid and volunteer help in all children’s

ministry areas. We have an adult monitor in or near the children’s hallway during class times to identify any

problem situations that may arise.

Emergency Procedures: (teachers are trained)

  • fire exits
  • first aid station locations
  • severe weather situations
  • Intruder situations
  • ALL DOORS IN THE CHILDREN’S MINISTRY AREA WILL BE LOCKED DURING THE SUNDAY SCHOOL HOUR.

Check In Computers: Kids sign in as they arrive at all Kids In Christ ministry areas. This ensures that we know who is here and where they are!

Children up thru 5th grade will receive a color coded name tag upon checking into the Children’s Ministry area.

Children will be given nametags which will designate whether they are taken to to the Ministry Center Room 123 to meet parent(s) or if the child will be picked up by parent following Sunday School (no later than 10:35).

All children are signed out of the computer system as a group at the end of the hour by the Children’s Coordinator/staff.

    Child Safety Forms:

All children participating in activities should have a child safety form on file with the church. These forms allow us to keep up to date with allergies and medications; new forms are requested yearly.
